Doctor De Soto by William Steig

William Steig is my favorite illustrator children’s book author. My favorite from my favorite is the story of a mouse dentist who treats all animals except cats. My mom would read it to me and my brother, and her read of the fox thanking De Soto is an all time comedic performance. I love reading it to my son who knows it as “Dada’s favorite.” The book makes a cameo in my brother’s brilliant film Fantasy Life (2025).
